Spinaloga Tour
Meet the Venetian past…
Spinaloga, the island of tears, is a place with many stories to tell… Today we can see the remains of a 16th century Venetian island fortress located at the Mirabello Bay, Lasithi. Though the place carries the history of Greece as it used to be a natural citadel of the ancient city of Olous, the history of the Saracens as it was their lair and the history of Ottomans as it used to be their settlement. During the 20th century, Spinaloga used as a leper colony of Greece, an exile place. There you can wander through the fortress, look into the preserved houses and churches,  gaze the amazing view of the Mirabello. Don’t miss the chance to discover right before your eyes the multilayered history of Crete...
